Huck Finn Shopping Center

An arrest has been made for the Monday attempted robbery at the Huck Finn Shopping Center.

The Hannibal Police Department responded to a call at the 500 block of Huck Finn Shopping Center for an attempted robbery on Monday, April 4.

At this time of year, when so many of us are in shopping mode, I found myself looking back at what was, in its time, Hannibal's prime shopping experience.

A store that bills itself as, "a convenient and welcoming store where everyone can find the styles and brands they want at lower prices," is coming to Hannibal.

Last month JCPenney announced that they will be closing over 150 stores, and filing bankruptcy. The full list of closures was released yesterday, and the Hannibal JCPenney is not on the list.

Hannibal's JCPenny store is back open to shoppers after a two-month quarantine shutdown. The store has adjusted its hours for the time being as the state phases in reopening plans.

Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27 at Gordman's, Hannibal's newest department store.
