Free Fishing Days

Last weekend was Missouri’s chance to fish its lakes and streams for free without a license and this weekend it is Illinois’ turn.

Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9, the Missouri Department of Conservation is offering its annual Free Fishing Day.

So there I was on the last Free Fishing Day in Illinois at Moorman Lake in Quincy when it happened. The fish of all fish was hooked on my line. It became a battle I was not prepared for.

This is a great weekend in the Tri-States to teach children about how to fish and have fun. This weekend is Free Fishing Days, which means you don't have to have a license to fish. In Illinois and Iowa the dates are June 5 through June 8. In Missouri, Free Fishing Days are June 6 - 8.

I am sure the when the word came down this morning that D.O. and the Big Dog will be catching all of the fish in Moorman Lake Friday morning during our morning show, the Quincy Park District officials sat up and took notice. The concern is that the two of us will catch all of the fish in the lake ahead of Saturday's Fishing Rodeo at the same lake.
