As you drive by Madison Park later this month, you will be seeing a transformation of the park into a “Field of Honor” as 1,000 American Flags will be posted in honor of all Veterans, diseased and living.
Well, this is the Sunday of the potential visit to our area of one of America's most notorious hate groups, the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church. This organization is reportedly going to be picketing at sites in Macomb, Quincy and Hannibal.
As you drove around in Quincy on the Fourth of July you may have noticed that several homes had an American Flag in their yard that day. That flag was placed there as part of the Quincy Exchange Club's Flags of Honor program.
If you haven't seen the Quincy Exchange Club's Field of Honor with 1000 American Flags the last three years, you will get another chance in November during Veteran's week at Madison Park at 24th and Maine in Quincy.
