Alzheimer's Association

It has become an annual tradition and it only started four years ago, but you will be hard pressed to find more fun than the Sunset Home Bed Races. This morning at 10am the Sunset Home will go crazy as the 4th Annual Bed races take place to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.

The 12th Annual Alzheimer’s Association Pro-Am Golf event is set for Monday, July 15th at Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy.  The first 24 teams to sign up are in the event at a cost of $800 for a team of 4 golfers.  If you register your team by tomorrow, May 3rd, the cost is reduced by $100 for your team.

The Alzheimer’s Association-Quincy Branch is proud to announce that its 2012 Chapter Ornament is now available. These limited edited, blown glass ornaments are handcrafted by central Illinois artist Hiram Toraason. This is the sixth in an annual series of 5-inch ornaments featuring the Association’s signature color of purple.

Being a long term member of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Advisory Board I know the organization is always looking for ways to encourage people to enhance one’s brain. With that said, the Alzheimer's Association-Quincy Area Office is looking for people in their 40s and older to participate in a fun and interactive healthy aging program called “Train Your Brain.”

The annual Quincy Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held at 6pm Thursday at Clat Adams Park in Quincy. Registration begins at 5pm with Country Market providing a free picnic for all walkers.

The Annual Alzheimer's Association Pro-Am Golf Tournament will be held  Friday. The event kicks off with a cocktail reception, dinner and auction at Mark Twain Casino on Thursday night at 6:30 and the public is welcomed to attend.

On July 19th, someone is going to win a brand new Yamaha 49cc scooter and it might as well be you. The Alzheimer's Association is selling chances to win the scooter now and will hold the drawing during the Dinner/Auction that night at the Mark Twain Casino in LaGrange where the scooter is currently on display.

The Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's will take place on September 6th this year.  I'ts an event that raised over 70-thousand dollars last year. This Saturday, the Alzheimer's Association will be holding  a Walk Kickoff

Being a member of the Alzheimer's Association Board of Directors gave me an opportunity to be one of the first people to know of some exciting news regarding the organization's upcoming golf outing.
