You know it is fall when the Swinkey Corn Maze has its opening. The official opening day for the 2013 is Friday, October 4. Sam Smith is the maze chairman and he and his crew do a great job of entertaining visitors. The maze will remain open on weekends through November 3.

Here are directions to the maze. The location is at Indian Creek, Missouri, five miles west of Monroe City on Highway 24. Turn south off highway 24 onto Monroe Road 533 (paved road but not Route HH-look for the maze sign on Highway 24) into the village of Indian Creek. The maze is located about a quarter mile off Highway 24, just past St. Stephen Church. The maze headquarters are in the pavilion on the left hand side of the road.

If you are gong to the maze at nightime, don't forget your flashlight! Glow-in-the-dark necklaces are available for one dollar. The admission price has been lowered to $5.00, and the Swinkey Corn Maze is well worth going through.
