Shooting Report Leads to Temporary Closure of I-172

Partial lane closures were in place on I-172 east of Quincy shortly after 1 p-m Wednesday afternoon.
Illinois State Police posted a traffic alert for that area on Twitter around 1:30 p-m following a report of someone shooting at a vehicle. Access to I-172 was closed off during the investigation at the Illinois 96 on ramp following the incident near milepost 7.5. Authorities say one person was interviewed by law enforcement agents and taken to Blessing Hospital. Illinois State Police expect to release additional information as the investigation continues.
