The Rotary Club of Quincy has bestowed the Paul Harris Fellow Award to Salvation Army Area Commander Major Andrew Miller. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is awarded in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among people of the world.

Major Miller, who joined the Rotary Club of Quincy in 2013, has been a member of six Rotary Clubs in three states since he first joined Rotary in 1977. Major Miller began Rotary in Rushville, Indiana where he served as secretary and has since served as club secretary in three of the clubs in which he has been a member.

A surprised Major Miller, in accepting the award from Joyce Waterkotte and Jeff Spear, stated “It is an honor that I did not expect! Due to my appointments with The Salvation Army, my family and I have moved frequently. Therefore I have only been a member of each Rotary Club for a short period of time. When I join a club, I take it seriously and am active from the start. I believe that Rotary Club is a great way for people to fellowship and grow relationships all while supporting a common cause.”

Congratulations Major Miller!
