Fans of the Blues in the District, your wait is over as Rockin' Jake will take to the stage tonight at 5:30 to perform in the first concert of the summer. The District (formerly known as the Historic Quincy Business District) has put together another great lineup this season.

Washington Park is the site for all of the Blues in the District concerts which run from 5:30 to 9:30. The concerts are free to attend with food and drink available for purchase. Concert goers can also bring their own food and drink if they so desire along with a blanket or a lawn chair to sit on.

One thing for sure is you will meet your friends there. All except one and that person is Ted Tappe who passed away earlier this year from cancer. For years Ted was a supporter of the Blues in the District.  Ted provided the sound system and he also ran the side sound board for years.

Ted was a good man, a good father, a wonderful musician and a friend to many. It will be different listening to the music and not see his smiling face at the sound board tonight. He will be missed.
