Register Now for The 11th Annual Soap Box Derby

It may only be April, but the time is now to sign up for this year's 11th Annual Soap Box Derby to be held on June 10th and 11th. The Breakfast Optimist Club of Quincy puts this wonderful event on every year in Quincy on North 18th Street at the Tom Awerkamp Bridge and last year decided to hold a "Super Kids" event for kids with special needs. The inaugural "Super Kids" event saw 28 youngsters enjoy the ride of their lives with co-drivers and this year they are anticipating many more.

Yesterday, I had the chance to interview Ray Wilson, the event coordinator, along with Dr. George Crickard of the Quincy Medical Group a major sponsor for this years event. Here is that interview:

Registration is now open with no charge for the "Super Kids" on Friday, June 10th and $65 for Stock & Super Stock kids on Saturday, June 11th. For more information go to www.quincyBOC.org.
