We are getting very close to warmer weather and the boating season. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake invites you to participate in a "Ready, Set, Wear It" World Record Day event on May 17 at noon at the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center.

You could help set a world record for the most life jackets worn and inflatable life jackets inflated. It is part of a year long effort by the North American Safe Boating Campaign to promote safe and responsible boating, including voluntary wear of life jackets.

Bring your life jacket, sign in for the photo at noon that will make you part of a World Record Event. Participants get a certificate of participation and a $2 off coupon for use at a Corps campground at Mark Twain Lake. You can also purchase an event T-shirt for $8 ($10 for 2X and up) by paying in advance at the Visitor Center.

For more information contact the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center at 573-565-2112.
