Quincy YMCA Introduces The Funnel Cake 5K At the Adams Co Fair

Now this is a race I can get in on. The inaugural Funnel Cake 5K will take place at this year's Adams County Fair, and there is a special treat at the end of the race. Can you guess what is could be?

The Quincy Family YMCA and Rural Program Center in Ursa are teaming up to bring the first ever funnel cake 5K. This is for all ages and the whole family to be apart of.

The race will take place on Sunday, July 29 at the fairgrounds in Mendon. Ill. You can choose from either a 5K run or 5K walk, plus there will be a one mile kids fun run. The best part, runners/walkers will receive a mini funnel cake at the finish line. If that doesn't motivate you to finish the race. I don't know of anything else that will.

You can register online now through July 26th (online registration will close on the 26th). The race will begin at 9:30 on July 29th by the grandstand. Cost to run in the race is $20 for individuals and a for family of four $60 ($10 for each additional member). Registered participants will receive entrance into the fair, a t-shirt and mini funnel cake. I might even sign up for this one.
