QFD to Host Fire Prevention Week Kick Off at the Quincy Mall

The Quincy Fire Department will be hosting their third Annual Fire Prevention Week Kick-Off this Saturday in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week. The event will be held at the Quincy Mall parking lot near Bergners from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Firefighters will have a series of activities for children to participate in including the Fire Safety House. Sparky the Fire Dog will also be at the event. The public is invited to attend. TGI Friday's and Pepsi are donating food and drinks to be sold with all proceeds going to Public Education events put on by the Quincy Fire Department.

Also on display will be firefighters and their fire trucks with a fire demonstration taking place at 1 p.m. which should last about 45 minutes. For more info contact the Quincy Fire Department at 228-4459.
