You can spend your summer on stage at the Quincy Community Theatre.

Registration for Quincy Community Theatre's Summer Education Classes is now open to all interested students. All classes are taught by the QCT Head of Education, Kelsey Celek. New summer classes include:

  • GRADES K-3
    • MAGIC TREE HOUSE: This adventurous course allows children to develop their “actor toolkit” through the stories and characters of the popular book series. Great for students who enjoy reading, history, or acting onstage! Students welcome to bring snacks.
      June 22-26, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. Tuition: $135
    • MARY POPPINS: A collaboration between QCT and the Quincy Arts Center allowing students to create scenes, songs, and art projects based on the popular movie musical. Students will also have a special behind-the-scenes look at the QCT production and will hold a performance for families at the end of the class. Students welcome to bring snacks.
      July 13-16, 1:00-4:00 PM. Tuition: $84
  • GRADES 4-6
    • JURASSIC PARK: This ferocious acting adventure will use the stories, characters, and dinosaurs from the popular film series to explore the world of theatre and create their own prehistoric adventures. Students welcome to bring snacks.
      June 29-July 3, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. Tuition: $135
    • MARY POPPINS: EXTRA SUPERCALIFRAGILISTIC EDITION: A collaboration between QCT and the Quincy Arts Center using the popular movie musical as inspiration for advanced scenes and art projects. Students will also have a special behind-the-scenes look at the QCT production and will hold a performance for families at the end of the class. Students welcome to bring snacks.
      July 20-23, 1:00-4:00 PM. Tuition: $84
  • GRADES 7-9
    • JUNIOR SCENE STUDY: Working with a partner, students will utilize objectives and tactics to interpret and perform a scene from a play.
      Tuesdays: June 16-July 28, 4:30-5:30 PM. Tuition: $65
    • MASTER CLASS: AUDITIONS: This three-day intensive will review choosing appropriate materials, how to prepare, and what to expect in an audition. A must for students with an upcoming audition for college, QCT’s season, or a school play.
      June 16-18, 1:00-4:00 PM. Tuition: $80
    • SKETCH COMEDY: Explore how to use characters, settings, and surprises to make people laugh! Students will also examine the skills behind improvisation and physical comedy. Perfect for the jokester in every family!
      July 6-10, 1:00-4:00 PM. Tuition: $135
  • GRADES 10-COLLEGE
    • PLAY OF THE WEEK CLUB: CONTEMPORARY MUSICAL THEATRE: Each week, students will read, listen to, and discuss a new contemporary musical. This course will explore works by Jason Robert Brown, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Jeanine Tesori, John Bucchino, and more.
      Mondays: June 15-July 27, 4:30-5:30 PM. Tuition: $65
    • SENIOR SCENE STUDY: Working with a partner, students will utilize objectives and tactics to interpret and perform a scene from a play.
      Wednesdays: June 17-July 29, 4:30-5:30 PM. Tuition: $65
    • MASTER CLASS: ACTING IN THE PROFESSIONAL WORLD: A two-day seminar preparing actors and actresses who are hoping to choose a career in the performing arts.
      June 29 & July 1, 1:00-4:00 PM. Tuition: $55
    • MASTER CLASS: AUDITIONS: This three-day intensive will review choosing appropriate materials, how to prepare, and what to expect in an audition. A must for students with an upcoming audition for college, QCT’s season, or a school play.
      July 27-29, 1:00-4:00 PM. Tuition: $80
  • ADULTS & PRE-K
    • MOMMY & ME (Ages 3-4 accompanied by an adult.): An interactive class helping adults and the special young person in their lives experience theatre together using stories, songs, and collaborative play. Perfect for seeing if your little one (or even you) may enjoy performing!
      June 15-19, 10:00-10:45 AM. Tuition: $45
    • PLAY OF THE WEEK CLUB: PULITZER PRIZE WINNERS (Adults 18+): Adults will delve into the rich cannon of Pulitzer Prize-winning plays with a new script each week. Appropriate for newcomers and seasoned theatregoers!
      Thursdays: June 18-July 30, 6:00-7:00 PM. Tuition: $65
  • GRADES 5-COLLEGE
    • TRIPLE THREAT BOOT CAMP: Returning for its eighth year, this theatrical boot camp instructs students in the three musical theatre disciplines: singing, dancing, and acting. The camp runs Aug. 3-8 from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM with a Showcase on Aug. 8 at 7:30 PM. More information available online. An essay is required for registration. Deadline to enroll: July 3
