Quincy Community Theatre Holding Auditions For ‘Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing’

How many of us read 'Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing' when we were in school? Probably most of us, right? I did. I don't remember a lot about it, because that's been a long time ago, but I remember enjoying the book a lot (and the sequels, which we also read). The popular Judy Blume story will be adapted for the stage at Quincy Community Theatre this fall, and auditions are being scheduled now.

Quincy Community Theatre will be holding auditions by appointment September 2 - 3. Rehearsals will begin September 10, and the show will be performed October 21 - 26. There are ten adult roles available, and nine roles for children.

Audtions take about 40 minutes, and interested actors and actresses can download a script from QCT's website, but you'll need a password. To request a password and to schedule and appointment for an audition,  contact the Quincy Community Theatre Box Office at 217-222-3209.

'Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing' is part of the Family/Student Theatre season, but will be directed by QCT’s newly appointed artistic director Brandon Thomsen. “Typically the fall family show is directed by the Education Director,” said Thomsen. “The search is on to find my replacement, and in the interim, I am happy to direct this comedy. It’s a great story and I love working with all ages. In the future, I hope to continue to direct the occasional student show.”

'Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing' is based on the book by Judy Blume, which was first published in 1972, and has gone on to become a classic in children's literature for generations. 'Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing' is a humorous look at family life and the troubles that can only be caused by a younger sibling.
