Quincy Senior High School will have their annual New Faces Variety Show this year, but it will be virtually.

The New Faces Variety Show has been a staple for QHS since 1955, which gives students the chance to "show off" their talents in Jazz Band, Sing Choir, and other variety talents. This year's theme "The Beat Goes On," is all about moving forward and keeping music alive in school. After a tough school year, its nice to see QHS moving forward with the tradition that everyone looks forward to seeing each year.

In February, students who wanted to be apart of this year's New Faces Show, had to audition for a spot. This year's variety show will include vocal solos, duets, house/garage bands, and dramatic skits. Also, in keeping with tradition we will get to see QHS Jazz Bands and Show Choirs, and two area dance troupes will also perform, plus so much more. Now is the time for the community to support arts, music, dance and of course the students and teachers who have worked so hard to make this show happen.

To purchase tickets (which are $20) to this virtual event go to qps.org and click on departments, then music, then tickets. If you can, you will be asked to donate to the QHS Music Department when purchasing a ticket. Once you have purchased a ticket you will be given a link for the April 10, show which will be available at 7 pm. The show will have already been ore-recorded and set to start at that time.

For a mom who has a dance not only in dance but plays the violin, I see first hand how important music and art is in a students education. So please if you can support the music and arts department where ever your child attends.
