This Saturday the Quincy Park District and Townsquare Media will hold their annual Fishing Rodeo at Moorman Lake in Quincy. All ages are welcomed to join in the fishing fun beginning at 12:30 with registration followed by the fishing competition from 1 to 2:45 p.m.  There will be prizes for different categories in different age brackets as well on Saturday.  The event is also being held during free fishing weekend in Illinois so no fishing license will be needed to compete.

If you would like to be a part of the fun and don't own a fishing pole, the Park District will have fishing poles available for you to use during the event at no charge. Y101 Radio will also be on hand broadcasting from Moorman Lake and giving away t-shirts and other prizes as well.

If you can't make it Saturday and would like to learn more about fishing the Quincy Park District holds fishing clinics during the summer at Moorman Lake. These clinics are designed for beginners through seasoned fishermen with instructors providing safety tips and fishing knowledge. The clinics are for people 3 and older and take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  The clinics are free, but registration is required on site.
