Just when you think you have seen, heard or read it all, there comes more stories that make you say "Only in America."

I was catching up on a backlog of magazines yesterday when I came across a series of stories in the March edition of the AARP Bulletin (Yes, I do get this bulletin even though I am only 29...whatever!!). The article was entitled "You Gotta Be Kidding." There were ten stories listed, but I will only highlight three this time.

Dateline: New York

A 26-year-old resident of the Bronx was caught sleeping in his seat at Yankee Stadium on ESPN during a national televised New York Yankee game last year. ESPN announcer Dan Shulman referred to him as "oblivious" during the broadcast. Now, Andrew Rector, the sleeping fan, has filed a lawsuit against ESPN alleging mental anguish, loss of future income and loss of earning capacity. Only in America!

Dateline: Bound Brook, New Jersey

Two 18-year-old boys were going door to door to see if people would like to have their driveway shoveled after a snowstorm this past winter. Apparently, someone called the cops citing a city ordinance stating that the two boys cannot solicit without a license. Only in America!

Dateline: Highland, Utah

Glenn Taylor of Highland, Utah recently filed a lawsuit claiming to have sustained "serious permanent and debilitating" injuries from a car accident. Weeks later Taylor is seen in a video, posted by the Salt Lake Tribune on YouTube pushing a 2-thousand pound boulder. Only in America!
