Tuesday morning I had the opportunity to talk with Beverly Simmons, the Executive Director of Family Planning in Quincy. With April being STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) Awareness Month, Beverly mentioned some frightening statistics that young people and their parents need to be aware of.

One of those statistics is in the headline of this story: One in two sexually active people will get a STD by the age of 25. For people of all ages, especially young people, take precautions for your future. Make sure you get tested as most STDs have no symptoms.

For more information you can call the Family Planning Office at 224-6877 or go to www.familyplanningquincy.org.
