A new Octoberfest celebration will take place Saturday, October 12 in front of the old Dick Brothers Brewery building at 9th and York in Quincy.

The event will take place from 4 to 10 p.m. and admission is free. Events include:

  • Beer and brats in the beer garden, sponsored by County Market
  • Brat eating contest at 6 p.m. and stein holding endurance contest at 8 p.m., sponsored by Refreshment Services Pepsi
  • Homebrew sampling and cavern tours from 4 to 8 p.m., sponsored by WGEM and The Quincy Herald-Whig
  • Gallery Solaro open from 4 to 9 p.m. with free admission
  • Second and third floor tours of the main Dick Brothers Brew House at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. for a cost of $2 per person
  • Dancing and live music sponsored by Y-101 Radio, featuring the Heidelberg Band from 4 to 6 p.m. and The Cheeseburgers from 6 to 10 p.m.

All proceeds will benefit the Rotary Club of Quincy's local community projects.
