Hot off the press and fresh on the shelves today, Hannibal author Steve Chou is unveiling his Bicentennial Edition of Hannibal: Bluff City Memories 1819-2019.

This edition is a high-quality glossy pictorial coffee table book. Its pages feature moments from Hannibal's past and up to present-day events like the Folklife Festival. There are fascinating outtakes of life in the last century, including the steamboats that sailed the Mississippi, the old Union Station, long-gone street-scapes and photos of everyday people enjoying life at baseball games and picnics at the cave.

Saturday, March 9, Steve Chou will present a talk and book-signing at the Mark Twain Museum Gallery on historic Main Street. It runs from 2:00 until 4:00. Chou will share the stories behind the pictures of Hannibal's rich history. You can buy the 158-page volume there or online at Amazon.

The book's debut is part of a year-long celebration of Hannibal's Bicentennial. You can follow all the events and significant historic moments at its Facebook page, Hannibal MO Bicentennial 2019.
