School is about three weeks away from starting and the school parking lot reconstruction at Quincy Senior High School has been in full swing this summer. The redesigned parking lot will force construction crews to possibly have to shut down Maine Street in Quincy between 30th and 36th Streets. This will allow for crews to mill and resurface the area with asphalt weather permitting within the next week according to Quincy City Engineer, Jeff Steinkamp.  The project is part of the Safe Routes to School Project. If you haven't been by that area, they have added a turn in lane on the south side of Maine Street between 30th and 33rd Streets and the new design will have the lot entrance and exit at the street light at 33rd and Maine which is now a 4 way stop until construction is complete in that area.
