If you’re buying back-to-school products, this weekend is the time to do it.

The Missouri sales tax holiday runs from Friday through Sunday. Stores in many places will not charge the four percent state sales tax on eligible items. The list includes clothing up to 100 dollars, supplies up to 50 dollars and computer software of 350 dollars or less. Personal computers and computer devices of up to 35 hundred dollars also are covered.

Some cities are not participating. In Northeast Missouri, they include Palmyra, Paris, Shelbina and Vandalia.

In addition, the Missouri Department of Revenue says Audrain and Pike counties have opted out.

Iowa also has a sales tax holiday on back-to-school items.  Illinois does not.
