Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

The Quincy Exchange Club will present the annual Gus Macker 3 on 3 basketball tournament May 23 - 24. The tournament takes place on the streets around Washington Park. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Gus Macker basketball in Quincy.

Twain on Main

The Historic Hannibal Marketing Council presents Twain on Main as a celebration of Mark Twain, his literary works, and the cultural and historical heritage of Hannibal. The festival includes entertainment, events, specialty vendors, and food vendors. Twain on Main takes place Memorial Day weekend in downtown Hannibal. Hours are 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday.

Splash Landing

Splash Landing, the waterpark at the Mark Twain Landing, will open on Memorial Day Weekend. Opening day is Saturday, May 23. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adults tickets are $25. Youth tickets are $20. By the way, if you purchase a season pass before Memorial Day, there's a 50% discount.

Pools Open

The Quincy Park District pools will open on May 23 for Memorial Day Weekend. The Hannibal Aquatic Center will open a little later, this year, on May 30.

Quincy Park Band

The 67th season of the Quincy Park Band kicks off with the band's annual Memorial Day Concert on May 25 at 2 p.m. The concert will feature patriotic music at Clat Adams Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Memorial Lantern Float

The Memorial Lantern Float has become a Memorial Day Weekend tradition in Hannibal. This event is a ceremonial release of lanterns into the Mississippi from Nipper Park as symbols of the universal hope for peace, open to all regardless of religion or background. The Memorial Lantern Float will begin with the decoration of lanterns at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 23. The lanterns will be released beginning at 8 p.m. The James O'Donnell Funeral Home is the sponsor of this event.

American Legion Post 55 Memorial Day Ceremony

The annual Memorial Day Ceremony at American Legion Post 55 in Hannibal is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on May 25. American Legion Post 55 is at 3819 Highway MM in Hannibal.

Hannibal Cavemen Exhibition Game

The Hannibal Cavemen will play on exhibition game against the Hannibal Senior American Legion Team at 6:35 on Monday, May 25. Gates will open at 5:35. Tickets will only be $2, and will be sold at the gate. All tickets are general admission tickets. Full concessions will be available. The regular season for the Cavemen begins on the road in Springfield on May 27. The first regular season home game at Clemens Field will be on May 30.

Wounded Warrior Rib Fest Cookout

The Wounded Warrior Rib Fest Cookout and concert will be happening in Nebo, Illinois in support of the Wounded Warrior Foundation on Saturday, May 23. The event will be at Heartland Sunset Valley Lodge at 38789 115th Avenue, outside of Nebo. A free will donation will be accepted for the Wounded Warrior Foundation, with gates opening at 9:00 a.m. and opening ceremonies beginning at 9:30 a.m. Live music will start at 10:00 a.m. Bands include, The Harmans, Black Suede Band, Stomping Ground and Country Soul. Music will go on until 7:30 p.m.
