Hall of Famer and Cardinals legend Lou Brock is coming to Quincy not once but twice in the coming weeks.

Most recently, he was announced as the special guest for the Quincy Mall's annual Baseball Card and Memorabilia show on January 27.

Anyone seeking an autograph from the six-time All Star and two-time World Series Champion must pick up a line ticket. Line tickets are free and will be distributed beginning at 10:00 am in the mall’s main entrance (limited to the first 225 in line). Brock will be signing from 1:30 to 3:00 pm and no bats or jerseys will be signed.

Now see, I'm a Dodger fan, so while this would be cool just in general to attend, since it's not everyday you get the chance to meet Hall of Fame All-Star World Series Champion. I'd prefer Sandy Koufax, but I doubt he'd want to leave the warmth of his SoCal home. But when I told Ben, our resident Cardinals fanatic, that Brock was going to be here, he immediately put in for three weeks vacation, and is already camped out at the mall for line tickets. Basically re-enacting that episode of Saved By The Bell where they were trying to get U2 tickets. Except I doubt he'll be on Totally Hidden Video. Or wear a Superman costume.

The 2018 Baseball Card and Memorabilia show marks the 30th annual event of its kind—the longest running annual event hosted by the Quincy Mall.

Brock will be making a return appearance to Quincy in April. He was previously announced as this year's keynote speaker for the Western Illinois Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet at the Oakley-Lindsay Center on April 8. Ticket info has not been released yet.
