We all have seen the, videos of soldiers, marines, and service men and women coming home to surprise their loved ones, and yes I'll admit it brings tears to my eyes. Well, once lucky Blessing Hospital nurse got the surprise of her life when she was a part of the surprise.

It was just another normal shift for Blessing Hospital nurse educator Amanda Fessler, just a normal shift. So when she was asked to join a noon meeting nothing seemed odd about that, until she turned the corner and saw her daughter, United States Marine Private First Class Whitney D. Parkhill, they have not seen each other for six months.

Private First Class Parkhill wanted to surprise her mom for a spring visit. Private First Class Parkhill is stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. As you can see in the video, Amanda is brought to tears when she see's her daughter and hugs her tight. It's okay if you shed a tear (I did), these videos of soldiers coming home are the best, especially when its a local solider.

Thank you for your service Private First Class Whitney D. Parkhill, and enjoy your time home with your mom and rest of the family. Also, thank you to Blessing Health System for sharing such a sweet moment between a mom and her daughter.
