Colby was a polarizing player during his two-and-a-half years wearing the birds on the bat. The Cardinals picked him 28th overall in the 2005 draft and the highly-touted prospect made his major league debut four years later on Opening Day 2009. He was a decent player during an odd stretch of late 2000s Cardinal ball, but never quite lived up to his potential. He and his overbearing baseball dad feuded with Cardinals management which would eventually lead to a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays in the middle of St. Louis’ 2011 championship run. He had a couple solid years with Toronto and Houston before joining the Rays prior to this season.

But I’m not here to talk about any of that. I’m here for one reason and one reason only: to make you watch a video you hadn’t thought about in eight years.

COLBY FIRE BURNING IN THE OUTFIELD BY COLBY RASMUS GIRL! Such a bizarre tribute, but I love every second of it. Never change, Colby Rasmus Girl.
