We are bringing play to Quincy children by building a playground with KaBOOM, Quincy Area Project, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois.

What is KaBOOM? It is a national non-profit dedicated to giving kids the childhood they deserve, by bringing play to those who need it most. Today's kids spend less time playing outside than any previous generation, in part because only 1 in 5 children live within walking distance of a park or playground.

In one day, KaBOOM will build a brand new playground in Quincy. This will happen on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Jefferson Youth Center, 1201 North 5th Street.

You can help make it happen by being a volunteer for the entire day, or you may visit any part of the day as an observer. The playground build begins with a kickoff ceremony at 8:30 a.m. and the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 2:30 p.m. The Big Dog and Little Denny from Y101 Radio will be there, as well.
