I was fortunate enough to be able to play baseball for 24 years and even today I start to get the bug to oil up my glove and play some catch. Every January my friends would be into hockey and basketball but not me. It was time to think baseball. And so it is again as I prepare to head south in a few weeks to Spring Training in Florida.

This year I will be going with 39 other people to see the St. Louis Cardinals play the New York Yankees and the Florida Marlins. Plus there is the opportunity to see the Yankees meet the Marlins as well. The trip leaves St. Louis on March 6 and returns March 10. It is being put together by Destination Travel. This is a trip of a lifetime for Cardinal and Yankee fans.

I have been to Spring Training before and it is so relaxed with the ballplayers talking to the fans during the game and when I went Bob Gibson and Red Schoendienst were walking right in front of us signing autographs. It will be a trip you will never forget.  Where else could you get so up and close to people like Yadier Molina, Carlos Beltran, Matt Holliday and Chris Carpenter.  Plus for Yankee fans there's Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano and Ichiro Suzuki.

As I mentioned, there is only 40 of us going and there are a few seats left. If interested contact Destination Travel at 223-8747 today., Oh yeah, remember your suntan lotion too!
