The Illinois Treasurer's office has what they call an I-Care Program where names of people are listed as owners of unclaimed property.  That property could be cash from old bank accounts, forgotten stocks, life insurance policies and other assets that are in need of return to their rightful owner. According to the the Illinois State Treasurer's office one in four people who search the list of names discover property that they can claim. The State of Illinois claims there is some $156 million in unclaimed property just waiting for owners to claim.
