The Quincy rumor mill has been active lately and currently it has another new restaurant coming to town. Word on the street has IHOP will soon be opening in the old T.G.I. Friday's location at the Quincy Mall.

For 58 years, the IHOP family restaurant chain has served their world famous pancakes and a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. According to their webpage, in 2015 there were 1650 IHOP restaurants in all fifty states and in locations around the world. Will Quincy be the next?

I decided to track down IHOP officials at their Glendale, California-based International House of Pancakes, LLC offices to get it from the "horse's mouth", so to speak. Quoting Adam Korn in the IHOP Public Relations Department, "Currently, there are no plans to open an IHOP in Quincy, Illinois".

So ends that rumor.
