Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood reports deputies, along with fire crews and first responders were called to a house fire in Nebo just before 3:45 p.m. Friday.

After the fire was extinguished, the body of eight month old Dallas William Dean Mooney was found in the house.

An autopsy was performed on the infant Saturday at the McLean County Coroner’s Office in Bloomington. It was determined the boy died of smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshall. They have determined that foul play was not involved.
