When it comes to celebrating Independence Day, Americans love barbeque!

According to Forbes.com, Americans spent $6.6 billion in food during the 2015 Fourth of July festivities. This comes out to around $72.23 per household! Nearly 65 percent of Americans planned a BBQ event last year and that number is expected to rise for 2016.

During the holiday, people in the United States will eat approximately 150 million hot dogs, 190 million pounds of beef, 700 million pounds of chicken, and 5 million gallons of ice cream!

So America, get on the feed bag, light the fireworks, and enjoy the best part of summer.
