With another new year upon us, we celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and songs that turn 20 this year. In 1998, E.R. was a hit show, Armageddon was a hit movie, and these songs topped the charts...

Brandy & Monica - The Boy is Mine: The perfect "leave my man alone" song. I remember turning the radio up in my car when this song came on. Both Brandy and Monica were at the top pf their careers when they collaborated on this song. I still jam out to this song when it's on the radio.

Aerosmith - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing: 20 years later this movie still makes me cry, even though I know what's gonna happen. Written by Diane Warren, this made the movie even more epic and Aerosmith's singing was a perfect match for this song.

Britney Spears - (Hit Me) Baby One More Time: That's right. This was the year we were introduced to Britney Spears and her uniform (yes, I did wear it as a costume for Halloween, don't judge me). Her debut single rocketed her to princess of pop status.

Cher - Believe: Cher took this song, the title track from her best-selling album, all the way to number one in 1998. It was also part of The Greatest Dance Songs of the 90's.

Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away: Off his fifth album, 5, this single would become one of the biggest hits of his career. The song also earned him a Grammy award.

This list could go on forever, but these are the ones that I thought would remind you of jamming in your car, or screaming at the TV 'cause your favorite boy band was on. You can still listen to these songs every Thursday on Y101 for Throwback Thursdays.
