Few States Make More Lethal Weapons for the US Army than Illinois

This has been happening practically in my backyard for decades and I had no idea the massive firepower being manufactured in Illinois and loaded into US Army weapons. Few states can match Illinois' output when it comes to supplying the military.

So if someone told you that Illinois was one of the top 10 states for weapons production for the United States Army, would you believe them? It's true based on a brand new ranking from 24/7 Wall St. They say that Illinois is home to a staggering 12 different weapons manufacturers that are contracted with the US military. That includes the lethal AH-64 Apache helicopter.

The report says that Illinois is home to Boeing, Caterpillar, General Dynamics, Motorola, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon which produce "Apache Attack Helicopter, Avenger Air Defense System, Medium Dozer, Motor Grader, and Unified Command Suite".

You don't want to be on the receiving end of what Illinois is making for the Army. Boom.

It's not surprising that Texas and Virginia are among the top weapons manufacturing states, but Illinois was a genuine surprise to me flexing it's manufacturing muscle for our fighting men and women.

Illinois makes the weapons that you always hope that America never needs to use, but the Land of Lincoln is a vital wing of the military's power and it's happening right in your backyard.
