The Illinois State Police District 20 Commander, Captain Jon Dively, announced today activity and enforcement figures for calendar year 2016. Troopers in District 20, which includes Adams, Brown, Pike, Schuyler and Scott Counties, recorded 15,046 incidents during the year and conducted 11,895 traffic stops.

In addition, enforcement figures totaled 6,937 citations and 6,942 written warnings, including 3,755 speeding citations, 73 DUIs, 1,397 occupant restraint citations, 2,449 written warnings for speeding, and 444 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 1,115 motorists, conducted 2,390 Motor Carrier Safety Inspections, and investigated 350 traffic crashes. Of those crashes investigated by District 20, 13 were fatal traffic crashes resulting in 13 fatalities.

During the year, 5,364 citations and 5,211 written warnings were issued for “Fatal Four” violations which include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seat-belt, and Distracted Driving.
