I was born in Missouri, but have lived in Illinois many times in my life. I have enough experience in the Land of Lincoln to have a pretty good idea of the type of people who will enjoy the state and which ones won't. Here are 5 types I'm shocked didn't leave Illinois years ago.

If you happen to be in one of these groups, please don't take it personal. I wouldn't blame you if you do, but I really have your best interest at heart. Let's begin with an obvious group that really should vacate Illinois immediately if not already.

Have you seen the massive amounts of population that have been leaving Illinois? I would hazard a guess that a majority are seeking a place to live with lower taxes. If you've seen the property taxes in Illinois, you know what I'm talking about. It's double the national average.

Do you own a weapon? I'm not talking about the alleged felons that propagate the slums of Chicago. I'm referring to God-fearing 2nd Amendment-loving gun owners. If that is you, how are you dealing with Illinois outlawing almost every firearm you can imagine?

I want to be clear that I am not an anti-immigrant person. Truth be known nearly all of us were migrants at some point. My only point is that if you don't like Mexico, Illinois is likely not for you as approximately 1 in every 7 Illinoisans you meet are an immigrant and most hail from Mexico.

Have you heard that Illinois is now part of Tornado Alley? It's sadly true and that's great news if you enjoy the exciting pastime of storm chasing. If you're not Reed Timmer, probably not fun for you.
