I knew it was Pancake and Sausage season, but I didn't realize it was also Trivia season. There are numerous trivia events scheduled in the next few weeks in the area. Some feature general trivia and others have specific categories only, like TV and Music. If you love trivia, you have your pick in the weeks ahead.  Here are some of the trivia events scheduled

January 25

The Annual Quincy Notre Dame Music Trivia Night will be held at St. Peter’s Gymnasium at 2500 Maine Street on Saturday, January 25. The ten rounds of music trivia will begin at 7 p.m. The cost is $100 for a table of 8 with all proceeds going to further Catholic Education in the area through the QND Foundation. Participants must be 21 or older and beverages and snacks maybe brought into the event. For more info call 224-2598.

February 15

The St. Jude Quincy to Peoria Run Trivia Night will be held on Saturday, February 15 at the Quincy University Hall of Fame Room. The doors will open at 6:30 with the event starting at 7. The cost to enter is $100 for a table of 8 or less. Beverages, including alcohol, will be sold at the event and you can bring your own snacks and table decorations with a prize awarded to the best decorated table. You must be 21 or older to participate with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For more info call 779-5994.

February 15

Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers will be holding their annual TV Trivia Night on Saturday, February 15 at 7 p.m. at the Quincy Holiday Inn. The cost is $15 per person with tables of at least 4 people with a maximum of 8 people. The event will feature free pizza and appetizers and a cash bar. For reservations call 222-7055.

March 1

The Quincy Breakfast Kiwanis Club will be holding their annual Trivia Night on Saturday, March 1 at the State Room in Quincy. The doors open at 6 p.m. with general trivia starting at 7 p.m. Tables of 6 are $150. The price of a table of 6 includes draft beer, wine, and pizza. To enter a team, contact Kevin Blickhan at 653-0735.

March 1

The Altrusa International Club of Quincy will be holding their 8th Annual Trivia Night on Saturday, March 1st.  The event will take place at Father McGivney Hall at the Knights of Columbus in Quincy with doors opening at 5:30 and trivia starting at 7pm. Teams of  up to eight cost $100 and players must be at least 16 years of age to participate. There will be a 50-50 drawing and a cash bar.  No outside beverages please, but you may bring your own snacks. To reserve a team, call 653-4404 by February 15th.

March 22

Douglass Community Services- Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) invites the community to test its trivial knowledge Saturday, March 22 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hannibal during its annual CASA Trivia Night fundraiser. This year’s theme is “March Madness.” Doors for competitors open at 6:30 p.m. and competition begins at 7 p.m. Registration is $100 per team, with a maximum of 10 players on each team. Teams must register by March 15 by sending payment and a team roster to Douglass For questions, contact Samantha Gilland at 573.221.3890 x280. This fundraiser helps raise funds to provide advocacy for abused and neglected children in foster care in Marion, Monroe and Ralls Counties.
