If Needed, Would People Turnout This Time to Sandbag Again?

It maybe a little premature of me to bring this up but with the rising waters in the area the thoughts of sandbagging are certainly being discussed.

In 1993, Quincy performed a sandbag operation outside QU Stadium in which hundreds if not thousands of people helped out.  In 2008 the sandbagging operation was held at the Oakley-Lindsay Center.  That particular event featured a visit by then Presidential candidate Barack Obama.

I was sitting with some friends last night and we were discussing if the need for sandbagging came about would people turn out like before?  Times have changed drastically since those events and I am not so sure we would see the passion of people today like we did then.

I guess only time will tell if the need arises.  Hopefully, there will not be a need for it.
