A boating safety education class will be offered Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Eagles Nest in Quincy.

The class is co-sponsored by Quincy park rangers with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Eagles Nest. The free eight-hour class includes instruction on basic boating safety, equipment requirements, motorboat registration and titling, Illinois boating laws, navigation, personal watercraft, and emergency measures. People who complete the class will receive an Illinois boating safety education certificate.

The class will run from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. with a one hour lunch break. Registration is encouraged. For more information, call the park ranger's office at 217-228-0890.
