The best time of year is when the leaves are turning and the air is crisp. I love the fall weather and all the colors that go with it. Drive anywhere in the Tri-state area and you will see some fantastic color changes in the trees. And during the Fall Color Drive in Western Illinois and Eastern Missouri, everyone will be out and about.

To get the real experience of what fall is all about, you have to get in the car and travel around the area. I think it is the best time of year to not only take a drive in the car to see the colors, but  to go way back in the woods to see the best colors. Yes, there might be some more traffic than usual during this time of year in the woods, but take the back roads, go somewhere you have never been before and see what fall is like way back in the timber. That is where the color is.

Stop at a stand and get some great food. Explore all that fall offers because it only lasts for a few short weeks, then the colors are gone until next year.
