Here’s Your Chance to Be a Firefighter

The Quincy Fire Department and the Tri-Township Fire Departments are hiring and applications are now available.  Both departments are accepting applications now through this Friday, August 28, at 4:30 p.m.

Each applicant must choose which department they desire to work for and must take a written test. That test will be given on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at John Wood Community College at 1301 South 48th Street in Quincy at 8 a.m.  Once the written testing is complete the applicant will be notified as to whether or not they will move onto the next phase of testing.

Applications for the Quincy Fire Department can be obtained by going to www.quincyil.gov and click "What's New" or "News and Announcements". To obtain an application for employment with the Tri-Township Fire Protection District, stop by the fire station at 227 South 54th Street in Quincy.

The starting annual salary for the Quincy Fire Department is $47,019.23 and for the Tri-Township Fire Department it is $42,224.
