The 2016 Dogwood Festival weekend is rapidly approaching and this year's event is jam packed with activities. This year's festival will be held in Quincy April 28 through May 1. Listed below are all of the scheduled activities as part of the Dogwood Festival.

Thursday, April 28

7:00 p.m. Little King and Queen of Dogwood Pageant, Quincy Mall Center Court  

Friday, April 29

11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Concert in the Plaza featuring Avenue Beat, First Mid-Illinois Bank Plaza next to St. Boniface Church

Saturday, April 30

8:30 a.m., Breakfast on the Lawn, First Christian Church, 1415 Maine

9:00 a.m.-6 :00 p.m., Amusement Rides, food, crafts in Washington Park

9:30 a.m. Parade, 24th and Maine, proceeds west to 6th St. Please bring a canned food item for the “Operation Serve” collection for local pantries. Theme is "Right on Q".

12:00-3:00 p.m., Entertainment downtown

Noon-4:00 p.m., Live acoustic concert inside Washington Theatre, 425 Hampshire. $2 admission. Tours also given.

1:30—Kayla Obert

3:00—Jacqueline Kaufman & Ivan Yantis

5:00 p.m. Gates open for District Street Concert, Maine Street 5th to 6th. Featuring Matt Roberts Blues Band at 6:00 and Super Majik Robots at 9:00. $2 donation.

6:00 p.m., Dogwood Dance sponsored by the American Business Women Association (ABWA), at The Elk’s Club, 311 N 2nd Street. Dancing starts at 7:00; Music by Raised on Radio. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance from any member or at the Chamber Office.

Sunday, May 1

Noon-4:00 p.m., Amusement Rides, food, crafts in Washington Park

1:00-3:00 p.m., Entertainment downtown

1:00-4:00 p.m. Log Cabins Open House, Quinsippi Island

1:00-5:00 p.m. Quincy Preserves Spring Tour. Properties include: 2040 Prairie Avenue, 2024 Prairie Avenue, 2315 York, 230 S. 24th, Dick’s Brewery Stock House at 925 York and Washington Theater at 425 Hampshire. Visit www.quincypreserves.org for advance tickets.

3:00 p.m., All Faiths Celebration, Clat Adams Park, followed by free concert at 4:00 p.m. featuring Andrew Peterson and Carrollton.
