Hannibal's "Pumpkins in The Park" was  a huge success despite the fact the event had to be moved because of the recent flooding. Originally planned for Nipper Park, the event was relocated to Central Park in Hannibal. That change of location didn’t keep people from enjoying the event on Sunday. The Pirate Pride singers, a group of fourth and fifth graders from Eugene Field School, performed for the crowd, led by Teresa Paszkiet.

Here are the winners in the youth category:

  • Spooky: Anna Martin, first; Coleton Hall, second; Andrew Clark, third
  • Artistic: Camron Story, first; Serenity Haynes, second;  Amara Coffey, third
  • Silly: Tyler Clark, first; Carter Dickson, second; Chalin Martin, third

Here are the winners in the adult category:

  • Spooky: Lisa Richardson, first; Alexis Elliott, second; Robert Crane, third
  • Artistic: Lesley Hall, first; Stacey Martin, second; Andrea Altiser, third
  • Silly: Stacey Martin, first; Josey Crane, second; Melissa Dowell, third

The 6th annual "Pumpkins in the Park" was sponsored by Hannibal Parks & Recreation with the prizes donated by SC Data Center. Tom and Becky, portrayed by Katie Locke and Kason Bonvillian, helped distribute the prizes.

By the way, if you want to see some of the pumpkins that weren’t retrieved by their owners after the contest, they are and will be on display at Hannibal's City Hall until after Halloween.
