Mother Nature will be showing off in fine form in the month of October.  Four meteor showers will hit in the next few weeks.  The first shower of the peak autumn season hits Tuesday Oct. 8.  You should cast your gaze away from the moon and you can expect to see about ten shooting stars an hour, though that number can vary widely.

The second shower falls on the next night, Wednesday, October 9.  This shower features incredibly bright meteors known as fireballs.

If you miss the opportunity, you won't have to wait long for even bigger light shows.  The Orionid Meteor Shower will peak October 21 and 22.  It's predicted to cast about 20 shooting stars per hour.  Click here:
