For the first time after months of flooding, Hannibal's Sodalis Nature trail will host its first night hike of the season.  The hike takes place this Friday, July 12 at 8 p.m.

Sodalis' limestone caves are home to thousands of bats, some of them rather rare. Hikers will learn about the bat population and see their mass exodus as they lead the caves to feed.

The Sodalis Nature Preserve took a pounding from Bear Creek in the spring/summer floods.  The trails just recently reopened there, however, there is plenty of clean up left to do.  The Stream Team is hosting a clean up along Bear Creek this Saturday.  Click here  https://y101radio.com/volunteers-needs-for-major-flood-clean-up-in-hannibal/  for information about volunteering.

If you would like to register for the night hike or join the Bear Creek clean up, contact the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department.  https://www.hannibalparks.org/
