Flooding is forcing some events to shuffled from the riverfront to other locations. Hannibal Parks & Recreation will now host the sixth annual Pumpkins in the Park at Central Park Sunday, Oct. 28. It was originally planned for Nipper Park, which is underwater and barricaded by the flood wall.

From 2 to 4 p.m., decorated pumpkins will be on display in Central Park. The pumpkins will be judged by the spectators. Each person will be allowed vote once in each category: spooky, artistic and silly.
Participants are being asked to bring pumpkins to Nipper Park from 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 28 and can retrieve their pumpkins at 4:15 p.m. Pumpkins will be displayed at City Hall through Halloween and then will be disposed of.

Pumpkins can be decorated with paint, glitter, markers, etc., but cannot be carved.. Each entry will also receive a pass to the Hannibal Ramp Park.
