Holy Family School in Hannibal may be small in numbers but it's a fundraising powerhouse for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Third grade teacher Elaine Booher has a soft spot for children and extraordinary compassion for children who suffer. She spearheaded the effort in 1998 to raise money for St. Jude. Fast-forward 30 years, and the kids at Holy Family are on the brink of raising over $100,000

The St. Jude Math-A-Thon is a teaching tool--both in arithmetic and in empathy. The students see stories of the children who are patients at St. Jude in Memphis. These kids are in a life-or-death battle with cancer and other diseases. Since the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from individual contributions, events like the Math-A-Thon really are life savers for these sick chldren.

Since 1998, Holy Family has sent $97,217.20 to St. Jude. This year's goal is to top $100,000 in 30 years of giving. Can you help? Go to stjude.org and make your contribution today!
