The City of Hannibal and the Parks and Recreation Department want you to go outside and enjoy the city's many parks during the COVID-19 quarantine, but it has declared the playgrounds and picnic tables are off limits effective immediately.Playground equipment will be removed or roped off at Huckleberry Park, Riverview Park, Kiwanis Park, Douglass School/Arizona Cleaver Stemmons Park, Spooner Creek Park and West Ely Park.  Picnic tables will also be removed from Hannibal's parks.

Just because the playground equipment can't be used, the Parks and Rec Department encourages everyone to get out and enjoy the nature that the dozens of parks in Hannibal offers.  There are miles of trails in Hannibal, winding around the riverfront and at the city's newest showcase, the Sodalis Nature Preserve.  Officials do ask that people not congregate and observe social distancing of six feet from others.
