UPDATE: Admiral Coontz Closed Until Further Notice

UPDATE: The Admiral Coontz Recreation Center will be closed until further notice.

The Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department has suspended all its programs and events for the next thirty days.

Included in the suspension are all events at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center, including the Wednesday senior dance, pickleball, sports practices and special events.

Also affected are Parks and Rec’s nature programs and night hikes, and the Ramp Park at Huckleberry Park has been closed.

Parks and Rec officials say they will reevaluate the suspension of activities in two weeks.

The suspension of activities is in keeping with the CDC’s recommendation of no gatherings of 50 people or more for the next eight weeks to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
