Grab your flashlight, hiking boots, and a energy bar, the first night hike has been announced from Hannibal Parks & Recreation. 

March 23rd will be the first official night hike of the year at Sodalis Nature Preserve. The March 23rd hike will be a special one, not only being the first of the year, but the hike will celebrate the Vernal Equinox (the beginning of Spring).

The hike will travel to bat caves, there will be storytelling telling, and activities at the top of the trail all while explore all the nature has to offer in Sodalis Nature Preserve. The night hike will start at 6 PM, and will be on paved paths which is about two miles.

The Night Hike is free, but reservations must be made by calling Hannibal Parks & Recreation at 221-0154 or emailing mlrichards@hannibal-mo.gov. Guided night hikes are also planned the second and fourth Friday of April at Sodalis Nature Preserve, starting at 7 PM  April 13 and 27.
